Will Debut In Brazil, Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Torehkan Record At The Interlagos Circuit
JAKARTA - Porsche has again set a record on racing circuits with high-performance electric cars, the Taycan Turbo GT. Recently, the car set a record for the fastest lap on the Interlagos circuit located in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
This is the fourth time the car has set a record fourth continent after etching out the fastest laps in Nurburgring Nordschleife, Germany (Europe), the Shanghai International Circuit, China (Asia), and the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, USA (North America).
The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package managed to record a 1:42.1 minute turn on the circuit 4.3 km or nearly eight seconds faster than the previous time, 1:48.8 minutes with the Taycan Turbo S in 2022.
Driven by the Porsche manufacturer racer and winner of 24 Hours totaling Brazil, Felipe Nasr, Taycan Turbo GT managed to conquer various sectors at this circuit from high speeds to many elevation changes.
"I expect a strong acceleration and brutal torque. However, the overall performance that really impressed me," Nasr said on Porsche's official website, Monday, March 10.
Brazil Porsche CEO Peter Vogel said the goal of Taycan Turbo GT's record as an introduction to the model for the samba country market.
Our goal is to set a new record to demonstrate the strength of the new Taycan model series that will debut in the Brazilian market, explains Vogel.

Different from other versions of Taycan, this one car has a number of things that are improved in order to get extraordinary performance, consisting of improvements to aerodynamics and chassis, which is in line with the GT badge embedded in this model.
Taycan Turbo GT is also offered in the 'Weissach' package as an opportunity that provides more dynamic performance.
Porsche claims this sporty car weighs 75 kg lighter than the Turbo S variant. A number of carbonized components contributed to the weight reduction. Carbon fiber is used in the trim pillar B, rear-view mirrors, and other components.
This variant is the most powerful Taycan ever with electric motors equipped with combined power reaching 1,092 hp and a powerful torque of 1,340 Nm, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour in 2.3 seconds. According to manufacturer claims, the Taycan Turbo GT can run at the highest speed of 306 km/hour.
The gahar performance is also supported by impressive travel distances. The Taycan Turbo GT has a battery that can cover a distance of up to 555 km.
