According to him, this step is a strategic form of maintaining security stability in the earth of Cendrawasih.

"We really appreciate the efforts of the Cartenz Peace Task Force which succeeded in thwarting the smuggling of this weapon. This is a concrete step in maintaining security and ensuring that the Papuan people can live a calmer life," Mangihut told reporters, quoted Monday, March 10.

Strict steps are said to continue to be taken. The goal is to prevent the circulation of illegal weapons by groups that have the potential to disrupt security stability in Papua.

"Security in Papua must be strictly maintained. We fully support the efforts of the authorities in cracking down on arms smuggling so that there are no loopholes for armed groups to strengthen themselves," he said.

The former Expert Staff of the Attorney General also emphasized the importance of strict supervision from security forces in preventing the entry of illegal weapons into conflict areas.

According to him, this success should be a momentum to increase awareness and prosecution of a wider network of arms smuggling.

"This success proves that our apparatus does not remain silent. We hope that similar operations will continue to be carried out so that there is no gap for armed groups to destroy peace in Papua," said Mangihut.
