Oilita Is Not In Accordance With The Takaran, The Government Is Asked For A Thorough Audit Of Producers
JAKARTA - Member of Commission IV DPR RI Cindy Monica asked the government to take firm action against producers of cooking oil packaged by Oilita who were proven to be cheating for selling products that did not match the dose.
"I encourage the Ministry of Trade and related agencies to conduct a thorough audit of all producers of Oilita," said a member of the House of Representatives commission in charge of agriculture, quoted from Antara, Monday, March 10.
According to him, if the government finds a violation, there must be strict sanctions such as a strong warning to the revocation of the Oilita producer's business license.
He explained that this step was necessary because consumers were harmed.
"People are entitled to get products according to what they buy. Therefore, in the future, supervision must be tightened so that similar cases do not happen again," said the legislator from the electoral district of West Sumatra II.
Member of Commission IV DPR RI Riyono said the same thing, that firm action from the government was needed on this issue.
"If the Minister of Agriculture checks less than 1 liter, then strict sanctions are needed on his company," said the legislator from the East Java VII electoral district in his statement in Jakarta, Monday.
Previously, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman found that Oilita was not in accordance with the measurements at Lenteng Agung Market, Jakarta, Saturday, March 8.
"This is clearly not enough 1 liter," said the Minister of Agriculture in a firm tone after finding that the contents of the Oilita packaging did not match what was on the label, which was only 750-800 milliliters, not 1 liter.
On that occasion, the Minister of Agriculture emphasized that companies carrying out these practices must be processed if they are proven to have committed violations.
