This Comedy Club Bans Entry Of Spectators Whose Face Is Injected With Botox, What's The Reason?

JAKARTA - A unique decision was taken by one of the most famous comedy clubs in London.Top Secret Comedy Club, which was once a stage for well-known comedians, such as Jack totaling to Amy Schumwe, emphasized a ban on visitors who inject Botox to enter their places.

This decision was taken, because the stiff face due to Botox is considered to be able to damage the atmosphere of comedy shows. The use of Botox is increasingly popular in the UK every year, and this is a problem for comedians.

"Many comedians complain that it is increasingly difficult to read the audience's reactions and interact with them," said the club owner, Mark Rothman, quoted from the Standard.co.uk page.

The club claims the ban is the last attempt to revive the atmosphere of the show.

"We hope that this ban attempt can restore facial expression in the room, for the sake of comedians and spectators," said Rothman.

People do Botox to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face by blocking neural signals to muscles. However, side effects can make the face look stiff and difficult to show expressions, which of course become an obstacle to comedy.

The move is backed by comedians at the club, including Andrew Mensah.

" Showing comedy in front of the audience with an expressionless face is very difficult. Comedy is reciprocal, we need energy and reactions from the audience," said Andrew.

Previously, the club had featured comedians who also use Botox, such as Total Ryan. However, it seems that this rule is more aimed at the audience than the performers. Paul Chowdhry, who will appear at the club this month, responded.

"My face barely moved on stage, I don't want to see the same thing from the audience," Paul said.

Starting today, spectators will be examined upon entry, with door staff trained to conduct express tests to detect the use of Botox. Rothman insists this ban is not a promotion or gimmick.

"We are very serious about this ban, and if you are surprised, we need to look at the expression. We look forward to the presence of old and new spectators, who can still move their faces at our club soon." he concluded.
