2026 World Cup Qualification: Preparation Against Australia, Patrick Kluivert And Jordi Cruyff Arrive In Jakarta
JAKARTA - Indonesian national team coach Patrick Kluivert and engineering adviser Jordi Cruyff arrived in Indonesia ahead of the two matches of the Garuda team in the Asian zone 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Australia on March 20 and Bahrain on March 25.
Kluivert and Cruyff just landed at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Sunday, at around 18.10 WIB. Both of them wore dark shirts and headed for a car that immediately took them to a hotel in the Senayan area to stay overnight.
"Alhamdulillah, coach Patrick Kluivert and PSSI technical adviser Jordi Cruyff have arrived in Jakarta," said PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir in his official statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
The arrival of Kluivert and Jordi will soon be followed by two assistants Alex Pastoor and Denny Landzaat who are scheduled to leave for Indonesia on Wednesday (12/3).
Erick then specifically welcomed Jordi, who had set foot for the first time in Indonesia. He hopes that the former Barcelona and Manchester United player will have a positive impression while in Indonesia.

"In particular, I welcome Cruyff, who is only the first time to Indonesia. Hopefully he will get the same positive impression about Indonesia, both society, culture, food, and also our high enthusiasm for football. We will both build our football worldwide," said Erick.
Jordi's closest agenda is to hold his official introduction in front of the media and public crew on Tuesday (11/3/). In the technical advisory capacity, Jordi will focus on building Indonesian football in five aspects.
These five aspects start from ensuring the quality and consistency of coaches in various national team age groups, including a more structured and modern approach to improving the philosophy of Indonesian football.
Jordi's next task is to collaborate with Kluivert to optimize the national team achievement strategy, reform the training methodology, and provide technical proposals to PSSI and the National Team Agency (BTN), and will later be involved in the process of determining PSSI technical directors.
