Candra Darusman: National Music Day Good For Reflection And Evaluation
JAKARTA - In commemoration of National Music Day which falls today, Sunday, March 9, Candra Darusman was present at a discussion held by BRO's Studio in Cilandak, South Jakarta.
Candra told a little about how Indonesia has Music Day, which she sees as something good. For him, the commemoration of National Music Day can be a reflection moment for music people.
"The National Music Day is now the 12th, and it was initiated by PAPPRI, there are Dharma Oratmangun, Tantowi Yahya, Bens Leo the late, and many more," said Candra.
"I think why not, (National Music Day) is a good idea, because so there are moments every year for us to celebrate. We can reflect, we can evaluate which one we have to fix and fix for Indonesian music," he continued.
Candra also shared how he met with the family of Wage Rudolf Supratman, a composer who composed the national anthem of Indonesia Raya. He said the violin from WR Supratman was abandoned at the museum.
"I was touched by the presentation of the heirs of WR Supratman, the violin that was used to create the song Indonesia Raya, it was abandoned in the museum," said @sunnyq. I want to attract the attention of all of us, the violin used for the song, it's an extraordinary value. If we go to the museum, we definitely want to see a violin that has made Indonesia united and independent," said Candra.

"I want to tell you this to generate a sense of nationalism that seems to fade longer and more. Not because of what, but because of the swift flow of outer culture. We do not reject foreign culture, but we must maintain our identity," Candra continued.
The chairman of the Anugerah Musik Indonesia Foundation also conveyed his message to the young musicians who were present. He hopes that the junior will continue to work and be confident in his identity as an Indonesian.
"Yes, continue to work and look for uniqueness, because I think there is a lot of competition," said Candra.
"Collaboration is one method that can be used. I also happen to be making singles, the collaboration is with Sri Lankan singers. Collaboration doesn't have to be with British or American singers. So, actually we don't have to be fixated on America and England," he concluded.
