Apple Prepares IPhone 17 Pro And Pro Max With A Number Of New Innovations In 2025 Fall

JAKARTA - Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 17 line in September 2025, with the flagship models iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max presenting a variety of improvements. Rumors have circulated about the latest features and designs that Apple will bring to this premium device.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are predicted to retain the same screen size as the previous generation, which is 6.3 inches for Pro and 6.9 inches for Pro Max. However, Apple is likely to use Samsung M14 OLED panel materials, just like the iPhone 16 Pro.
A leak from Weibo in December 2024 stated that the entire iPhone 17 line would get ProMotion support, which was previously only exclusive to the Pro model. In addition, other rumors say that screen glasses on the iPhone 17 Pro will be more resistant to scratches.
Changes may also occur in Dynamic Island, with some sources claiming that the size of this module will shrink thanks to the more efficient use of meta-lens "metal" lenses.
One of the major changes reportedly is the use of aluminum frames to replace titanium currently used in the iPhone 16 Pro. In addition, the back of the iPhone 17 Pro may adopt a combination design of aluminum and glass, no longer the full glass as before.
This material change could have an impact on device weights, although it is not yet clear whether the iPhone 17 Pro will be lighter or heavier than its predecessor.
One of the most interesting rumors is the change in the design of the rear camera module. Apple is said to be changing the camera layout from a box shape to an elongated bar on the back of the phone.
Leaks from December 2024 show that the camera remains using a triangular array on the left, while the flash and LiDAR sensor are positioned on the right. This design was first unveiled by Jon Prosser in February 2025 and supported by renders from Sonny Dickson and Majin Bu.
This larger camera module allows Apple to improve camera specifications without sacrificing space for other components on the device.
In the photography sector, Apple is expected to increase the Telephoto camera sensor to 48MP from the previous 12MP. Leaks from Ming-Chi Kuo in July 2024 also mentioned that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will get a better Tetraprism lens system with improved zoom and image quality.
In addition, the TrueDepth front camera reportedly increased from 12MP to 24MP with a more sophisticated six element lens system. This step is expected to improve the quality of selfies and video calls.
Apple is also likely to focus more on video recording features to attract the attention of vloggers and content creators, as mentioned in Mark Gurman's report in February 2025.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will almost certainly use Apple's latest A19 Pro chip, which is produced with a 2nm fabrication process by TSMC. This process is claimed to significantly increase power efficiency and performance compared to the previous generation.
Based on leaks from Jeff Pu and Ming-Chi Kuo, iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models are likely to be equipped with 12GB of RAM, while the standard model only has 8GB.

One of the new features that may be present on the iPhone 17 Pro Max is the vapor chamber cooling system. This technology uses a closed-door liquid to spread the heat evenly, so the device remains cold even though it is used for heavy tasks.
Reports from Ming-Chi Kuo say that the vapor chamber was originally considered in 2021, but only in 2025 does Apple actually implement it. It remains unclear whether this feature is exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro Max or will also be present in other models.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to bring a number of interesting changes, including new camera module designs, material upgrades, A19 processors with 2nm fabrication, as well as possible vapor chamber cooling systems. In addition, improvements in the camera and screen sectors are also the main attraction of this device.
However, all of this information is still in the form of rumors, and we have to wait until Apple's official announcement in September 2025 to find out the official details.
