Polemic Of PHOLU Net Sink, Raja Juli Assessed As Exemplary To President Prabowo

JAKARTA - Raja Juli Forestry Minister Antoni is considered to be showing the political practice of concoism by including 11 PSI cadres to fill the position at the Operation Management Office Forestry and Other Land Use (FOLU) Net Sink 2030 program.

"Actually, it's not something strange if the Minister of Forestry includes eleven PSI cadres for the FOLU Net Sink program. Starting from the president and vice president level, it's a waste if we are optimistic that the ministers will not be like that," said a political observer at the University of Medan Area, Khairunnisa Lubis, Sunday, March 9, 2025.

As is known, the appointment of PSI cadres at FOLU Net Sink 2030 is contained in the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number 234/2024. The cadres who were withdrawn, such as Andy Budiman who served as a member of the Advisory Board, Kokok Dirgantoro who was assigned to be a member of the Lestari Forest Management sector and Sigit Widodo as a member of the Carbon Reserve Improvement sector.

The FOLU Net Sink 2030 program itself is a mandate from Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 98 of 2021 which targets a 29 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, with a contribution from the forest utilization and land use sector of 17.2 percent.

The salary of FOLU Net Sink 2030 officials is relatively fantastic. In a document circulating on social media, it can be seen that salaries for directors or persons in charge reach Rp. 50 million per month. The salaries of the chairmen, both the executive chairman and the daily chairman, are set at around Rp. 30 million per month. Ordinary members get Rp. 20 million per month.

According to Nisah, Khairunnisa's nickname, Raja Juli, imitated the pattern of sharing positions carried out by President Prabowo Subianto for his supporters in the era of the 2024 presidential election, thus increasing the number of ministries and creating special institutions.

The problem is, not all Prabowo supporters are placed in the right place or according to their abilities. On the other hand, the politics of concoism will clearly ignore the meritocracy system based on competence. "Political sharing of unhealthy positions is clearly the case. So, like it or not, the cabinet must beifened. This is a kind of pork barrel politics or politics gentong pig," added Nisah.

He revealed that the politics of concoism that Raja Juli is practicing is a logical consequence of the style of the political and electoral system in Indonesia. Although in the end, these practices tend to ignore competence and professionalism so that ministries or institutions are managed haphazardly.

In my opinion, there is almost no professionalism. Because all levels, from ministers, to deputy ministers then the agency's (head) is about 90 percent more (leaders) are from political parties," said Nisah.
