Wamenekraf Calls PIK Area A Special Destination That Revives Tourism And Creative Economy
JAKARTA - Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) is increasingly known as a tourist destination that offers a unique experience with a combination of natural beauty, entertainment, as well as culinary and shopping centers.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy (Wameekraf) and Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Wakabekraf) Irene Umar said Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) is a special place, because it is closely related to business, recreation, and culture, which of course can support the tourism sector and the creative economy (parekraf).
This was conveyed by the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy while attending an event at PIK on Saturday, March 8, 2025. According to him, this moment is a form of tolerance between religious communities.
"At a Ramadan moment like this, the Ministry of Creative Economy/Ekraf Agency continues to be committed to strengthening harmony and tolerance between religious communities and respecting cultural diversity," Irene said in an official statement, as quoted by ANTARA.
"Whatever a different religious background, but we can work together in harmony and peace, especially to enjoy creative economy sub-sectors such as culinary, music, performing arts, to fashion shows," he added.

Furthermore, Wamenekraf Irene said Batavia PIK is not devoted to certain ethnicities. He emphasized that all people can visit to just enjoy food, enjoy entertainment, and look for alternative places to shop for fun.
'PIK is a very special place. A place that is not only visited by Chinese people. Anyone can enjoy and experience Ramadan this year as a form of celebration of tolerance and celebration of creativity by showing off more of Indonesia's face through the creative economy," the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy emphasized.
There are several things that the Creative Economy/Ecratic Body will show on PIK, such as the trailer for the animated film 'Jumbo' which will be shown in theaters during the Eid holiday and Troun Village as a form of local IP (Intelectual Property) that raises Indonesian culture.
