Komdigi Ensures All IT Equipment And Data Remain Safe After Electric Short Circuit
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital meeting room on the 8th floor of the main building of the Ministry of Communication and Industry caught fire due to an electrical short circuit, Saturday, March 8 in the morning.
This incident began with an electrical short on the display wall panel which triggered automatic activation of the fire alarm system and the FM200 fire extinguishing mechanism.
In addition, the breakdown of the window in the room also triggered the release of gas as an early protection measure.
However, the Director General of Digital Space Supervision, Alexander Sabar, emphasized that this incident was limited and had no impact on other areas in the building.
This means that Alex ensured that no other damage was spreading, be it IT equipment or data at the Ministry of Communication and Industry.
"We ensure that there is no spread to other areas, so that all IT equipment and data at the Ministry of Trade remains safe and not affected," said Alex in his official statement.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Digi, Ismail, also ensured that the entire system was still functioning properly after the incident, and there were even no disturbances to data or critical infrastructure.
As a mitigation measure, the building fire protection system has been functioning according to procedures. Thus, the fire that comes out after an electric short circuit is not large and does not spread.
