Orleans Masters 2025: Rehan/Gloria Meet Fifth Seeds In Final

JAKARTA - Mixed doubles pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja will meet fifth seed Jesper Toft/Amalie Magelund from Denmark in the Orleans Masters 2025 final round. This match will take place, on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in Palais des Sports, Orleans, France.

Rehan/Gloria secured tickets for the final round of the Super 300 BWF level tournament after winning the rubber games 21-16, 18-21, and 21-13 over the seventh seed from South Korea, Lee Jong Min/Chae Yu Jung, on Saturday, March 8. "Thankful and happy to be able to go to the final in two consecutive weeks," Rehan said in a statement after locking the ticket to the final round.

Last week, Rehan/Gloria also managed to enter the final at the German Open 2025. Unfortunately, their journey in the tournament ended as runners-up. At that time, they lost against Dutch and Danish mixed doubles, Robin Tableting/Alexandra Boje.

Orleans Masters 2025 is Rehan/Gloria's third tournament this year or since being paired. They have been reshuffled to composition now since the beginning of the year and then made their debut at Thailand Masters 2025. Their journey there stopped in the second half after losing against compatriots, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

While playing the semifinals in Orleans, Rehan/Gloria performed with the advantage of having a longer break. They won the walkover (WO) in the quarter-finals because their opponent from Malaysia, Hoo Pang Ron/Cheng Su Yin, chose to withdraw.

The decision was made because Cheng was injured in the ankle due to a sprain on the stairs after the match on Thursday, March 6, 2025. "The influencer didn't play yesterday and was positive enough for us. We have more time to recover," said Rehan.

Rehan/Gloria made a special trip while in Orleans to reach the final round. Their steps initially almost ran aground in the first half when they met Ki Dong Ju/Jeong Na Eun (South Korea). In that match they were forced to rise from the failure of the first game to win.

Their hope of staying in the tournament was actually very thin when in the second game they were far behind six points 8-14. However, that moment turned around when they scored six points in a row to equalize.

In the second half, Rehan/Gloria's appearance was extraordinary when they faced the first seed from Malaysia, Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei. In that duel they won a landslide victory in the first game and then managed to dominate the second game.

"Praise God to be able to go to the final again. It's not easy for us to get through all of this. We have mutual trust and confidence in the field," Gloria said in response to their dramatic journey to get closer to the title.

The Orleans Masters final match will take place at 11.00 local time or 17.00 WIB. Rehan/Gloria are the only Indonesian representatives left in this tournament. Indonesia has sent a total of nine representatives to Orleans this year, the largest in women's and men's singles as well as mixed doubles and women's doubles.

Mixed doubles dominate with the most representatives, namely five couples. The other four couples are Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil, Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah, Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, and Marwan Faza/Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata who returned early in qualifying.

The other four representatives are women's doubles duo Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari/Rachel Alllessya Rose as well as women's singles Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi and men's singles Alwi Farhan. For Apri/Fadia, this is their first tournament since they last played together at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
