The Appearance Of Hot Clouds Of Mount Merapi Falling Early In The Day
JAKARTA - Hot clouds of avalanche of Mount Merapi are observed in the early hours. Merapi is still on alert status.

The sliding distance is 1200 m to the southwest, ”said the Information Center for Disaster Technology Research and Development (BPPTKG), Saturday, April 24.
Previously, Mount Merapi on the border of Central Java Province and Yogyakarta Special Region launched hot clouds of avalanches to the southwest with a sliding distance of up to two kilometers on Friday, April 23.
Head of BPPTKG Hanik Humaida, said that Merapi launched hot clouds of avalanches at 11:20 WIB, Friday, April 23, with the column height 300 meters above the peak when the wind blew to the east.
Mount Merapi, according to him, launched hot clouds of avalanche for 145 seconds and the hot clouds of avalanches were recorded on a seismogram with an amplitude of 55 mm.
According to BPPTKG, Merapi's activities caused ash rain in the Cepogo District, Boyolali, Central Java, at 11.30 WIB.
During the observation period Friday from 00.00 to 06.00 WIB, Mount Merapi was observed spewing out eight times of incandescent lava with a maximum glide distance of 800 meters to the southwest.
The volcano also experienced 50 avalanches with an amplitude of three to 23 mm for 12 to 97 seconds and one multi-phase earthquake with an amplitude of four mm for seven seconds.
Until now, BPPTKG still maintains the activity status of Mount Merapi at Level III or Alert.
The volcanic lava and hot clouds of Mount Merapi are thought to have an impact on the area in the south-southwest sector which includes the Yellow, Boyong, Bedog, Krasak, Bebeng and Putih Rivers.
