Juventus Vs Atalanta Prediction: Competition For Important Points In The Hunt For Scudetto

JAKARTA Juventus and Atalanta BC will fight in a crucial duel at the Allianz Stadium, Sunday evening 9 March local time. Both teams still have opportunities in the competition for the 2024/2025 Serie A title, although Inter Milan and Napoli still lead the standings.

Juventus managed to revive their hopes in the race for the Scudetto by recording five consecutive wins in Serie A. This positive result led Thiago Motta's team to only six points adrift of leaders Inter Milan.

However, pressure still haunts Motta after Juventus were eliminated from the Coppa Italia after losing on penalties against Empoli in the quarter-finals. However, they immediately rose with a 2-0 win over Hellas Verona, where Khephren Thuram was again in the spotlight with his goal score.

On the other hand, Atalanta experienced an unfavorable early 2025, including a disappointing draw against Venezia last week. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini is also facing future uncertainty, especially after a disagreement with team star, Ademola Lookman.

Atalanta is currently ranked fourth in Serie A with 55 points, three points ahead of Juventus. However, their position is not yet safe considering the performance is starting to wobble.

Meeting Record

Juventus have only lost to Atalanta twice in their last 40 meetings in Serie A, with both defeats taking place in 2021. The last three league meetings ended in a draw, including 1-1 in January. Since 2018, Juventus have never won over Atalanta at home in Serie A.

This time Juventus will go down without Francisco Conceicao, Renato Veiga, Nicolo Savona, and Douglas Luiz who are still injured. Pierre Kalulu is recovering and ready to play, while Federico Gatti is doubtful of appearing due to a thigh injury.

On the front lines, Randal Kolo Muani, who impressed last month, is likely to return to be the main choice, ahead of Dusan Vlahovic.

Meanwhile, Atalanta will not be strengthened by Gianluca Scamacca, Odilon Kossounou, Giorgio Scalvini, and Stefan Posch who are injured. If Isak Hien can't play, Rafael Toloi or Marten de Roon can go down as a centre-back.

In attack, Charles De Ketelaere and Ademola Lookman will support Mateo Retegui, who is now leading the list of Serie A's top goalscorers this season.

With increasing performance and full support from supporters in Turin, Juventus has a great chance of winning an important victory that will further tighten competition at the top of Serie A.
