Appoint PSI Cadres Enter OMO FOLU Net Sink 2030 Structure, Golkar Legislator: Minister Of Transportation Damaged Government Governance

JAKARTA - Senior Golkar Party politician and Member of Commission IV DPR RI, Firman Soebagyo criticized the steps taken by the Minister of Forestry (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni to place a number of cadres of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) into the Operation Management Office (OMO) Indonesia Forestry and Other Land Use (FOLU) Net Sink 2030.

Firman said the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli damaged the system and governance of the government. This is because the 2030 FOLU Net Sink is an organ formed by the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Forestry (LHK) which was established to condition emission reduction and climate change control in 2030.

"This damages the system and governance and government institutions!", Firman said in his statement, Saturday, March 8.

According to Firman, the figures who fill the position positions in this organization should be people who are experienced in forestry and environmental sustainability issues. Not by placing party cadres.

Moreover, he said, the people appointed were also unclear about their background and capacity to support the running of the organization's wheels.

"Government institutions seem to be a political tool or a political instrument to achieve certain goals that are contrary to the law," he continued.

Firman also considered that Raja Juli's move had the potential to weaken the position of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) itself. This is because instead of placing the best figure based on the merit of the staffing system, the King of July, whose notary is the Secretary General of PSI, even appoints people from his own group.

What he did clearly weakened the existing position of ASN and had competence. ASN should have the opportunity, but so easily displaced by a group of party cadres who are not necessarily professional," said Firman.

Firman alluded to the culture of insiders (ordals) which has been evident in the recent two government periods. "The recruitment system in this kind of government is rife in the last two periods of government and is now in its third term," added the deputy chairman of the Golkar Party.

Firman hopes that President Prabowo Subianto can pay more attention to this issue. Do not let, he said, similar cases become precedents that are considered common in the recent government employee recruitment system.

"I ask President Prabowo to firmly prohibit and immediately determine his attitude so as not to add to the frustration of the public and students lately," he concluded.
