Water Hammer Risk: Fatal Impact Hits Floods With Vehicles

JAKARTA - Hitting floods in vehicles, both four-wheeled and two-wheeled, poses a considerable risk to the health of the vehicle itself, especially when the vehicle is exposed to the term 'water hazard'.

The founder of the workshop and the Scooter VIP workshop, Dennil Sagita, said that the water hazard was an excessive condition of water entering the fuel room of the motorcycle engine, so this incident could disrupt the combustion process.

"This water hazard occurs because of the condition of excess water entering the fire room, automatically if there is a water hazard, the maintenance costs are very expensive," Dennil Sagita told ANTARA, Saturday.

He further explained that this happened when the motorbike was submerged in deep water and submerged the vehicle engine and usually happened when it was flooded.

A considerable loss must be borne by the owner of the motorbike when they are hit by the disaster. For this reason, he advised not to break through a fairly severe puddle and immediately look for another road. However, when the owner of the vehicle has to be forced and there is no other way to achieve this goal, one way that must be done is to pull the gas consistently and try not to kill the motorbike.

"If you are already/forced because you have no choice, try to keep the engine in a condition, the gas must always play a little, don't let the engine turn off and let the idle position always prevent water from entering the exhaust line," he said.

The damage caused by the water hazard is in the stang piston section. According to him, the piston can be broken or twisted, so that this condition can trigger material losses that are quite large for the owner.
