The Minister Of Agriculture Asked Three Oilita Companies To Be Sealed After Reducing The Amount

JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman asked three Oilita companies to be sealed and closed if they were proven to have violated after their products were found not in accordance with the dose sold at Lenteng Agung Market, South Jakarta.

"The volume is not appropriate, it should be 1 liter but only 750 to 800 milliliters. This is a form of fraud that harms the people, especially in Ramadan when basic needs increase," said the Minister of Agriculture on the sidelines of conducting a surprise inspection (sidak), at Lenteng Agung Market, Jakarta, Saturday.

In the inspection to ensure the availability of nine staple foodstuffs available to the community, the Minister of Agriculture found packaged cooking oil with the Minita brand that was not in accordance with the rules and above the highest retail price (HET).

The oil is produced by PT Artha Eka Global Asia, the MSME Producer Cooperative of the Archipelago Integrated Cooperative (KTN), and PT Tunasagro Indolestari.

The Minister of Agriculture emphasized that this was a serious violation, namely that the packaged oilita which should have contained 1 liter turned out to only have a volume of 750 to 800 milliliters.

In addition to the inappropriate volume, the selling price also exceeds the highest retail price (HET) set by the government. Even though the packaging is written at Rp. 15,700 per liter, this oil is sold at a price of Rp. 18,000 per liter.

Responding to these findings, the Minister of Agriculture emphasized that such practices were very detrimental to the community and could not be tolerated. He requested that companies that were proven to have committed violations be immediately processed legally and closed.

He also emphasized the importance of strict supervision of the distribution of cooking oil in the market, so that similar incidents do not happen again. He asked the National Police's Food Task Force and Criminal Investigation Unit to act immediately to enforce the rules.

According to him, there should be no omission regarding this practice. The government is committed to protecting the interests of the community.

"I have coordinated with Kabareskrim and the Food Task Force. If it is proven that there is a violation, this company must be closed and the permit revoked. There is no room for business actors who deliberately seek profit in a way that harms the people," he asserted.
