Completing The Seismic Survey, PetroChina Ready To Drill
JAKARTA - PetroChina International Jabung Ltd. reported the completion of two of the three seismic surveys in Jabung Block. PetroChina Jabung Exploration Manager Hendra Niko Saputra said, with the end of the survey activity, Petrchina will carry out drilling activities at the end of the second semester of this year.
"Two of the top three surveys we have completed for processing, so we can do an interpretation, and God willing, we will start drilling preparations for one of the three seismics at the end of the second semester of 2025," he said as quoted on Saturday, March 8.
He explained that the survey was conducted in three main areas, namely 3D covering an area of 121 km2, 3D Rukam area 71 km2, as well as additional infield surveys covering 368 km in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency.

Niko further explained that this seismic activity was carried out to boost further exploration activities in the Jabung Block, especially the eastern part of Jabung which was still not explored.
"Current status, progressive data ongoing, two of which have been completed, one is being finalized. Then, achievement, Alhamdulillah, for approximately 10 months of field activities, we collected 1.7 million hours lost time injury," explained Niko.
Niko said the evaluation activity was still ongoing to check the oil and gas reserves in the Jabung Block. The continuation of this activity will depend on the drilling carried out.
"Will there be specifications later, depending on the results of the drilling we will do," he said.
