Former KPK Investigator: Hasto Must Dare To Face The Basic Case Judicial Process

JAKARTA - Former investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Yudi Purnomo Harahap asked the Secretary General of the PDI-P, Hasto Kristiyanto, to dare to face the trial process in the case of alleged interim bribery (PAW) for members of the DPR and the obstruction of the investigation.

The trial of the case is known to be held at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Friday, March 14.

"Referring Hasto to dare to face the main case in the corruption court," Yudi told reporters in his statement, Saturday, March 8.

This statement is also a response to the attitude of the Hasto camp which had rejected the transfer of files from investigators to the public prosecutor or phase II of bribery cases and obstruction of investigation.

Moreover, a copy of Hasto's case file has also been given to his attorney as material for self-defense. Thus, the Secretary General of the PDI-P must be brave and ready to face the judicial process.

Apart from that, said Yudi, by handing over the case files and even scheduled for the first trial, it indicates that the KPK has investigated or handled the alleged corruption case in accordance with the rules.

"This means that investigators and prosecutors as manifestations of the KPK in handling corruption cases are well sure that the process of collecting evidence has been passed properly according to the procedure. Then the elements in the bribery articles and the article on the obstruction of the investigation have been fulfilled," said Yudi.

Previously, it was reported that the first trial of the alleged bribery case for interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR and the obstruction of the investigation with the defendant Hasto Kristiyanto would soon be held.

Based on the Case Investigation Information System (SIPP) of the Central Jakarta District Court, the trial was held on Friday, March 14.

To deal with the judicial process, the KPK deployed 12 Public Prosecutors (JPU). The names of several prosecutors assigned to the judicial process include Surya Dharma Tanjung, Rio Frandy, Wawan Yunarwanto, and Greafik Loserte.

The deployment of dozens of prosecutors was stated in the Case Investigation Information System (SIPP) data of the Central Jakarta District Court.

Hasto Kristiyanto is known to have been named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the alleged bribery case between time and time (PAW) that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku.

Not only Hasto, the KPK also named Donny Tri Istiqomah, who is a PDIP cadre and a lawyer as a suspect.

In the development of case handling, Hasto is also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
