Many Mudaratnya, Residents Of Tangerang Regency Are Asked Not To Hold Takbir Around

TANGERANG - Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) Tangerang Regency, Dedi Mahfudin, appealed to residents not to hold a traveling takbir to welcome the Idulfitri 1442 Hijriah.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, traveling takbir activities had more harm than good because they brought large crowds of people and created crowds.

"In my opinion, this traveling takbir has greater disadvantages, because there are a lot of people participating in the activity, not only parents but also teenagers and children," said Dedi in Tangerang as quoted by Antara, Friday, April 23.

Not holding takbir around does not mean a loss of wisdom in welcoming the holy month of Ramadan. The community, he urged, could carry out it in a mosque or prayer room.

"So we are not merely prohibiting people from chanting takbir, but this is for the good of all of us," he explained.

He also appealed to residents to comply with the Lebaran homecoming ban imposed by the government to prevent a spike in the transmission of COVID-19.

"So the homecoming activity is very uncontrollable, how to apply strict health protocols. Then not to mention that those in the village can be infected by travelers. So with the ban we really have to support it," he said.
