Paris Olympics Gold Winners Appear At The 2025 Budget Championships In Bali
The fencing athletes who won the 2024 Paris Olympics gold medal will take part in the 2025 Asian Senior Budget Championships which will take place in Bali in the middle of this year.
Chairman of the Executive Board of the All-Indonesian Budget Association (PB Ikasi), Amir Yanto, said that the presence of the 2024 Olympic gold medalists could certainly provide a different experience to Indonesian athletes.
"Indonesia is quite lucky to be appointed as the host of the 2025 Asian Senior Budget Championship," Amir said while giving a briefing to the committee in Jakarta on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
The 2025 Asian Senior Budget Championship will be attended by around 800 athletes from 35 Asian-Oceanian countries. The event, which is included in the official International Fencing Federation (FIE) calendar, will take place from 17-23 June 2025.

Indonesia will field 24 fencing athletes as a result of the national selection (selection). The athletes are currently undergoing a national training camp (pelatnas) independently under the Russian coach, Leonov Fedor.
The chairman of the 2025 Asian Senior Budget Championship Committee, Masyhudi, hopes that this can be an important preparation for Indonesian athletes to face the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand at the end of this year.
"We hope that Indonesian fencing athletes can reap valuable experience at the 2025 Asian Senior Budget Championships so that they can donate gold medals when appearing at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand later," he said.
The implementation of the 2025 Bali Asian Senior Budget Championship will be held with the concept of sports tourism. So, this is one of PB Ikasi's contributions to Indonesia's economic growth.
Lucky Ramadhani as the field of the 2025 Asian Senior Budget Championships Competition said that this event is a history for Indonesia, which has not held single fencing events for a long time.
"This is history for Indonesian fencing, which has not held an international single event for a long time. The 2025 Bali Asian Senior Budget Championship is very prestigious because it features a gold medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympics," said Lucky.
Previously, at the 2023 Asian Senior Budget Championships in China, Japan won the overall title by winning four gold medals, one silver medal, and four bronze medals.
They were followed by South Korea as runners-up with three gold medals, five silver medals, four bronze medals. Then the third position was secured by China with two gold medals, three silver medals, six bronze medals.
