4 Children Open BO In Hotel In Tebet Area Returned To Their Parents, The Rest Were Sent To P2TP2A
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has returned four child commercial sex workers (CSWs) to their respective parents. They were caught in a raid carried out by officers on Wednesday, April 22 at a hotel in the Tebet area, South Jakarta.
Apart from the four children, there were also four other child prostitutes who were entrusted to the Integrated Service Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children (P2TP2A).
"We have entrusted four people to P2TP2A DKI Jakarta Province, we returned four to their parents," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus at the Metro Jaya Regional Police Headquarters.
For the case of prostitution, investigators are examining the hotel owner to find out whether he was involved in the practice.
"For the owner of the place, we are still exploring the relationship," he said.
The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya exposed the practice of online prostitution or open booking (Open BO) - a term used in prostitution - of children at a hotel in Tebet, South Jakarta. The hotel raid was carried out on Wednesday at around 23.00 WIB.
The officers then took a number of people suspected of being pimps and prostitutes to Polda Metro Jaya for questioning.
"The modus operandi is to offer child prostitutes by using social media applications," said Yusri. The police also confiscated a number of evidence, such as contraceptives, cash, cell phones and laptops.
If found guilty, the perpetrators involved in the practice of prostitution are threatened with being caught by Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection and / or article 2 paragraph (1) of Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons and / or Article 27 paragraph (1) Jo Article 45 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning ITE and / or Article 296 of the Criminal Code and or Article 506 of the Criminal Code.
