Recidivist Garong Bank Customer Arrested In Central Kalimantan Observes BRI Office To Search For Victims

JAKARTA - The police arrested a recidivist of theft, a specialist in a bank customer with the initials MM without a fight in Kapuas, Central Kalimantan (Kalteng).

The arrest of the perpetrator began with a report by the victim with the initials MN, a resident of Kapuas, who claimed to have lost a number of his valuables in his bag which was stored in the car.

"The perpetrator with the initials MM was arrested by officers in front of Alfamart Jalan Tambun Bungai, Kapuas, Thursday (March 6) at around 09.30 WIB," said Head of the Kapuas Police Criminal Investigation Unit Adjunct Commissioner Rizki Atmaka Rahadi in Kuala Kapuas, Friday.

Based on the victim's statement, the incident occurred on Monday, March 3 when the victim was depositing money at Bank BRI on Jalan Tambun Bungai, Kuala Kapuas. After that, the victim stopped at the pharmacy to buy medicine.

After arriving home, the victim only realized that a number of valuables were stored in his bag, such as a cell phone, two jewelry rings of yakut and Zamrud agates, as well as two hours the Mido brand had disappeared.

"The victim then reported the incident to the Selat Police. The officers then conducted an investigation and succeeded in arresting the MM perpetrator who was in front of Alfamart Jalan Tambun Bungai, Kapuas," he said.

The perpetrator is a recidivist of criminal acts of theft, specialists in bank customers and was convicted in the Banjarmasin area, South Kalimantan. The perpetrator's mode is targeting bank customers.

"The victim has been observed by the perpetrator since the bank. When the victim was careless, the perpetrator immediately took the victim's belongings in an unlocked car and at that time they were parked at a pharmacy on Jalan Tambun Bungai," he explained.

He added that the MM perpetrator had been living in Kapuas for about eight months and rented a barracks on Jalan Tambun Bungai Kuala.

"This perpetrator always stays in front of Bank BRI in front of Kodim 101 Kuala Kapuas to monitor and find targets for victims," said Rizki Atmaka.

The police charged the perpetrator MM with Article 362 of the Criminal Code regarding the crime of theft which carries a sentence of more than five years.
