Responding To Dissertation Requested To Be Revised, Here's Bahlil's Response

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia opened his voice regarding the University of Indonesia (UI) which decided that the dissertation of the doctoral doctoral program of the Strategic and Global Studies School (SKSG) Bahlil Lahadalia needed improvement.

Bahlil admitted that he did not know the decision of the University of Indonesia, but he confirmed that he would follow whatever was decided by the Struggle Campus, including making improvements to the dissertation.

"No. I don't know, what I know is whatever is decided. I am a student. Whatever is decided by UI I will join. But what I know is that it is an improvement, so we will fix it, because I have not submitted an improvement," said Bahlil, Friday, March 7.

However, Bahlil ensured that he would only make improvements to the contents of his dissertation and not be repeated from the start.

"No (repetitioning the dissertation)," said Bahlil.

Previously, UI decided that Bahlil's dissertation needed improvement. UI Director of Public Relations, Media, Government, and International Arie Afriansyah said that until now UI has not decided whether repairs to the dissertation need to be made in whole or partially.

"So the improvement will be like the work of quality knowledge, which in general, will later be determined by the promoters and co-promotors, and it will depend on the substance, because scientific works cannot become public consumption, and what the size and substance of the quality will be determined according to the discussion with the leaders," he said.

As part of coaching, if the student concerned has data that still needs to be refined or repaired, then UI will ask for improvement until the dissertation is declared feasible.
