BMKG: Most Of Indonesia Potentially Raining
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that rain will still have the potential to be experienced by most cities in Indonesia, including a number of areas on the island of Java.
BMKG forecaster Nurul Izzah Fitria in an online weather forecast followed from Jakarta, Friday, said that for the Sumatra region there is the potential for light rain in Banda Aceh, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung on Friday, March 7.
During the same period, there was also the potential for moderate-intensity rain in Medan and Bengkulu, thunderstorms in Pangkal Pinang and Pekanbaru, and thick cloudy weather conditions in Padang.
"For Serang City and Jakarta, the weather is predicted to be quite conducive, namely thick cloudy, then with four other cities in Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya there is still light rain," he said.
Light rain, he said, can also be experienced by people in Denpasar, Mataram, and Kupang areas for the Bali and Nusa Tenggara regions.
Meanwhile, in Kalimantan, all provincial capitals are forecasted to experience rain with various intensity, ranging from light rain in Banjarmasin, Samarinda, and Pontianak to thunderstorms in the Palangka Raya and Tanjung Selor areas.
Nurul said that the BMKG also predicts the potential for light rain in Palu, moderate rain in Mamuju, Makassar, Kendari, and Gorontalo, as well as rain accompanied by lightning in Manado.

In eastern Indonesia, almost all provincial capitals experience rain except for Ambon and Jayapura which have the potential for cloudy weather.
Meanwhile, light rain is predicted to fall in Ternate, Sorong, Manokwari, and Jayawijaya, as well as moderate rain in Nabire and thunderstorms in Merauke.
