If There Is No COVID-19 Pandemic, Mbappe Is Already Wearing A Madrid Costume
JAKARTA - Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker Kylian Mbappe should have moved to Real Madrid if football had not been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic or the corona virus, a report reported.
According to former PSG midfielder Jerome Rothen, the France international is close to agreeing a move to Madrid.
The 21-year-old has been linked with a transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu for some time, and Rothen has indicated a move for Mbappe is imminent.
"I know from club sources that Mbappe's move to Madrid is almost over, he said in an interview with Radio Montecarlo, reported via MARCA, Monday, April 13.
"With what is happening (the coroona virus pandemic) right now, I am sure (the move) will be delayed. But in no case will Mbappe's contract be renewed.
"The club has agreed to part with him this summer, it's only a matter of time."
Los Blancos coach Zinedine Zidane has targeted his French compatriot Mbappe as a potential signing after the former AS Monaco player signaled he wants to leave Paris.
Mbappe is under contract with the Ligue 1 giants until 2022. However, given his contract will not be extended, PSG are now considering selling him in the summer.
PSG remains determined to secure the 145 million euros they paid for Mbappe in 2018. Currently, they are considering selling the striker for more than 150 million euros.
However, Zidane had to sell some of his players to fund Mbappe's move. Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Luka Jovic are the players most likely to become victims.
