Update On COVID-19 As Of April 23: New Cases Of 5,436, Accumulated Of 1,632,248 Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 63,623 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5,436 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,632,248 and there are 100,533 active cases", data quoted from the Ministry of Health, Friday, April 23.
Today's cases recovered increased by 5,920 cases so that a total of 1,487,369 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases that died increased by 174 people and the total was 44,346 people.
The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 1,066 cases and a total of 273,135 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 884 new cases with a total of 403,260 cases. Riau has 477 new cases and a total of 40,876 cases. Then, Central Java has 374 new cases and a total of 181,463 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to Central Java with an increase of 1,571 cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,031 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an increase of 721 recovered cases, and South Kalimantan with an increase of 334 recovered cases.
No province reported having any new cases as of today. Provinces reporting new cases under 10 are Maluku, Papua, North Maluku, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, and West Nusa Tenggara. Also, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 14,154,141.
"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 16.77 percent", he wrote.
For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 65,421 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
