Quoting John F Kennedy, DPR Members Ask Regional Heads To Obey The Prohibition Of Recruiting Non-ASN Employees
JAKARTA - Member of Commission II of the DPR Eka Widodo asked all regional heads at the provincial and district/city levels for the period 2025-2030 to comply with the prohibition of recruiting non-ASN employees. Because it will increase the burden on the state budget.
In addition, according to Edo, the policy of prohibiting the recruitment of non-ASN employees or honorary staff is to restore staffing problems within the government, which so far seem illegal and have secretly recruited them.
"This policy will create a good and just culture, erode the culture of nepotism, treat people's negative beliefs and view the government as discriminatory in employee recruitment," said Edo, Thursday, March 6.
For information, Commission II of the DPR asked the Kemenpan RB to coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs to prohibit and impose sanctions on regional heads for the 2025-2030 period who appointed Non-ASN Personnel or other designations, either through personnel and spending and services. This was conveyed in a public hearing (RDPU), Wednesday, March 5, yesterday.
Edo assessed that the action against the policy of recruiting honorary employees as agreed in the RDPU there were elements of abuse of authority (abuse of power), procedural irregularities, discriminatory behavior, and unfair behavior.
"Working in government is indeed the dream of many people, the goal is noble as a civil servant. If the recruitment is done by breaking the rules, unfairly, limiting other people's opportunities, and discriminatory, it will produce officials who are equally bad and tend to be corrupt," said Edo.
He reminded that if stealth practices in personnel recruitment in government still occur, the public can report to the authorities.
"There is an element of maladministration because the category of behavior or actions that violate the law and ethics in the administration of government," he said.
Edo did not deny behind the success of many regional heads, there is the role of timses, political parties that carry, families, or other groups. According to him, a regional head can at least learn from US President John F Kennedy (1961-1963) who calls my loyalty to my party endings when my loyalty to my country begins.
"That is, my loyalty to the party ends, when my loyalty to the country begins," he quoted Kennedy as saying.
Edo said that it takes the wisdom of all parties in eradicating violations in the government. According to him, if you are interested in the government, it must be realized that there is a recruitment mechanism that must be obeyed.
"Don't be aji while being a government employee as if the government belongs to the family," concluded Edo.
