LeBron James Ukir History, Becomes NBA's First Basketball Player To Score 50 Thousand Points

JAKARTA - LeBron James succeeded in making history the first basketball player in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA) who managed to record 50 thousand points.

James carved this phenomenal achievement when Los Angeles Lakers secured a 136-115 victory against New Orleans Pelicans in Los Angeles, United States, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, morning WIB.

"That's a lot of points. I feel blessed to be able to score so many points in the best league in the world with the greatest player in the world in my career. It's really special," James said after the game.

In that match, LeBron James scored 34 points to complete the milestone he made. He made a history of 50 thousand points in the regular season and the Playoff in the first quarter with a three-point shot.

This slick record was made by James when he was in the NBA in the 22nd season. He still far ahead of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the second player with the most points. Kareem collects 44,149 points.

James now scored nearly 6,000 more points than Abdul-Jabbar. Both followed by Karl Malone in third place (41,689 points) and the late Kobe Bryant in fourth place (39,283 points).

The legend Michael Jordan is in fifth place with 38,279 points. Among the NBA players who are still active, only Kevin Durant has a record of approaching the legends with 35,225 points or about 15,000 adrift of James.

In this victory, Luka Doncic added 30 points and 15 assists. This figure made Doncic also make history as the fourth player in history with at least 30 points and 15 assists in one match.

The Slovenian player joined Jerry West, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James. Doncic is a newcomer who makes Lakers optimistic about competing in the NBA this season.
