Planning P3MI Accreditation And Certification, Minister Karding: To Be Healthy

JAKARTA - Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Minister (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding received an audience from the Nusantara Intermigration Vision on Thursday, March 6.

During the hearing, Minister Karding and the Nusantara Integration Vision discussed accreditation and certification for Indonesian Migrant Workers Placement Companies (P3MI).

"Our main goal is to make P3MI healthy. To make P3MI healthy, what we are doing is accreditation and certification and at the same time a periodic audit," said Karding.

Karding said the Ministry of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers (KemenP2MI) was preparing parameters and standards for P3MI.

"While we are slowly inserting things related to parameters and systems related to systems that force them to obey and follow our wishes to, for example, be transparent," said Karding.

Director of Integration Vision Nusantara Ade Irawan said that his party would help the Ministry of P2MI to improve services for Indonesian migrant workers. This, he continued, was to support Minister Karding's efforts to make improvements to P3MI.

"So they (P3MI) are not random, there is no fraud in it, there is no collusion practice in it. So the recruitment process, placement, monitoring including the return from migrant workers is carried out properly," said Ade.

In addition, the Director of Research and Science Management of the Nusantara Integration Vision, Adnan Topan Husodo, revealed that his party supports Minister Karding's efforts to improve P3MI.

He said that accreditation and certification for P3MI were steps to avoid various problems that Indonesian migrant workers often faced.

"On the one hand, this will also avoid the various classic problems that we often face, starting from illegal migrant workers, then also violence, fraud, manipulation and so on, this is detrimental to all of us," said Adnan.
