Receiving The Presidential Special Advisory Visit, BSSN Asked To Be Prepared To Face Cyber Threats

JAKARTA - Head of the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) Nugroho Sulistyo Budi and Deputy Head of BSSN, A. Rachmad Wibowo, received a visit from the Presidential Special Advisor for Political and Security Affairs, Wiranto.

On this occasion, Wiranto predicts that the challenges of cybersecurity in the future will be increasingly complex and diverse, coupled with the increasingly massive adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).

Therefore, as the frontline in maintaining cybersecurity, Wiranto emphasized that BSSN must always be ready to face changes in cyber threats that will come.

"BSSN must be the leading sector in cybersecurity," said Wiranto in his official broadcast quoted on Thursday, March 6.

Meanwhile, Nugroho also emphasized the importance of the role of the body in maintaining the nation's digital sovereignty amid the increasingly sophisticated threat of cyber attacks.

"The president emphasized that when there is a war and the entire information technology infrastructure is paralyzed, our troops will rely heavily on passwords for secret communications," said Nugroho.

For this reason, Nugroho stated that BSSN will continue to develop a national media system, including encryption that can be implemented in all levels of Ministries and Institutions.

"We are developing our own encryption mechanism and cryptographic system to be implemented in all levels of Ministries and Institutions," he continued.

In addition, Wiranto also conducted a review and saw firsthand the performance of the team in charge of National Cybersecurity Monitoring, as well as listening to explanations about the National Cybersecurity landscape, which provides a comprehensive picture of cybersecurity conditions in Indonesia.

This visit shows the synergy between the government and BSSN in maintaining the nation's digital sovereignty in the midst of rapid technological developments and increasing cyber threats
