JAKARTA - PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (TPIA) won three awards at the TOP CSR Awards 2021. The three main awards, namely, in the Top CSR Award 2021 4 Star category, Top Leader on CSR Commitment 2021 won by President Director Chandra Asri Erwin Ciputra , and Innovation of Plastic Waste Technology.
Award categories are classified in the form of star / star level, namely 1 star (lowest) to 5 stars (highest). There are three main criteria for evaluating the awards achieved by Chandra Asri in the 2021 TOP CSR Awards. First, the level of company CSR adoption towards ISO 26000 social responsibility.
Second, the alignment of the CSR program with the company's business strategy. Third, how the principles of GCG underlie the implementation of the company's CSR program.

Chandra Asri's CSR contributionSuryandi said, there were Chandra Asri's contributions in sustainable development and social responsibility programs, such as Chandra Asri's continued commitment to prioritizing efforts to balance business sustainability with corporate social responsibility, through four pillars, namely education, health, economy and social and environment. .
In addition, the company owned by the Prajogo Pangestu conglomerate is fully committed to sustainable programs, especially plastic waste management, one of which is participating in the Indonesia National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP) Forum which aims to reduce plastic waste in the sea by up to 70% by 2025.
"This sustainable system is important for maintaining environmental, social and management sustainability as well as the 3 main aspects of the company People, Planet, Profit," he explained.
He said, Chandra Asri's concrete form in supporting the plastic waste management program, started with behavior change education in the World Clean Up Day and Paku Beach Clean Action program which was attended by more than 336 participants and managed to manage 26,636 kilograms (kg) of plastic waste.
Not only that, Chandra Asri also collaborated with the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency in supporting the Jakarta Recycle Center program.
"Chandra Asri provided 36,000 recycled plastic trash bags, which succeeded in reducing wasted waste (all types) to the TPA by 160,637 kg and reducing plastic waste to the TPA by 12,671 kg," said Suryandi.
Then, Chandra Asri also concentrates on sorting waste in office and factory environments.
"In addition, we also contribute to creating a Plastic Waste Management Ecosystem, starting from sorting and collecting plastic waste, processing plastic waste from 1,456 kg of plastic waste to 1,287 liters of fuel to distributing benefits to the community," he explained.
He added, Chandra Asri also contributed to the construction of plastic asphalt roads, in 2020 it had been carried out along 37.57 km and managed 207,321 kg of plastic waste.
Contribution during the COVID-19 pandemicDuring 2020-2021, Chandra Asri provides support for communities directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, on a national scale as well as in areas where the company operates.
The steps taken are by joining the company in a consortium formed by the University of Indonesia (UI) which focuses on developing and procuring domestically made flocked swabs.
"This is to support the Government in the availability of PCR testing tools," he said.
Chandra Asri also guarantees the availability of raw PPE materials in the country through the PP Trilene HS35NW product to meet the needs of medical personnel who are at the forefront of handling COVID-19.
"We are also collaborating with PT Duaroda Saranatama to develop a Vaccine Carrier Box for short-range vaccine distribution needs in order to support the government's priority strategy in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic," he concluded.
