Carlos Alcaraz Ready To Side By Side With Federer And Djokovic

JAKARTA Carlos Alcaraz will strive to become the third player to successfully win three consecutive titles at Indian Wells to follow in the footsteps of Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.

The Spaniard arrived at Indian Wells on Monday, March 3, 2025, evening local time or Tuesday, March 4, 2025 WIB. He came on the status of champion in the two latest editions.

"I will try not to think about it. I will try to enjoy it," Alcaraz told reporters as quoted by AFP.

The journey to get this status is clearly not easy for Alcaraz. The reason is, if he and Djokovic are both smooth then they will face each other in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

If the fierce battle between Alcaraz and Djokovic is realized then this will be their ninth fight on the pitch. So far Djokovic has won 5-3 wins.

Alcarez admits that she always enjoys training and playing at Indian Wells. Even though she refuses to think about achieving that record, she still doesn't deny there is a desire to win.

"However, it (justifying Djokovic and Federer) is something that would be great for me to achieve," said the owner of the four Grand Slam titles.

Djokovic previously won three consecutive times in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Roger Federer won it in 2004, 2005, and 2006 editions.

Alcaraz, who recently lost in the Qatar Open 2025 quarter-finals, came as the second seed behind Germany's Alexander Zverev.

The world number one, Jannik Sinner, is confirmed to be absent at Indian Wells 2025 after receiving a three-month ban from the World Anti-Doping Agency for being positive for clostebol.
