YouTube CEO Video Used By Cybercriminals To Trick Content Creators
JAKARTA As a big platform, YouTube is vulnerable to misuse. Recently, YouTube announced that cybercriminals have used YouTube CEO Neal Mohan in phishing.
According to a YouTube report, the criminal spread fake videos that include information about changes to the monetization system. The video platform warns creators not to believe in videos made by Artificial Intelligence (AI) featuring Mohan's face.
YouTube insists that they, including employees who work in it, will not contact creators in the form of private videos, even if the contents of the message contain important information.
If there is information that includes a YouTube CEO video or other important officials from the platform, the video is confirmed phishing. That way, creators should not click on any links included in it.

"If there's a video that's privately shared with you claiming to be from YouTube, it's a phishing scam," YouTube said. "Never click the link in this video and you can report the video."
YouTube does not explain which countries are affected by this type of fraud. However, YouTube confirmed that many phishing actors always target creators by pretending to be YouTube parties.
To avoid the scam, creators are asked to always be vigilant and sort out the information they get. If the creator accidentally taps on the link, the criminal may install the malware and infiltrate the victim's device.
