Sritex Workers Union Asks DPR For Help So That Pesanggon Is Paid

JAKARTA - The Sritex Workers Union asked for help from Commission IX of the DPR to immediately urge the curator of PT Sri Rejeki Isman (Sritex) to pay severance pay for ex-Sritex employees who had been laid off (PHK).

Since Sritex has been permanently closed due to bankruptcy that has been cut off by the Semarang District Court, the responsibility and overall company assets are in the hands of the curator team.

Sritex Group Workers Union Coordinator, Slamet Kaswanto, said the company was obliged to pay severance pay to Sritex employees. According to him, payment of severance pay including THR for employees must be completed.

"It's still attached to the THR and so on. The severance pay must be completed," said Slamet Kaswanto at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 4.

In addition, the Sritex union also requested assistance from Commission IX of the DPR to coordinate Old Age Security (JHT) and Job Loss Guarantee (JKP) as a result of layoffs to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan staff so that the management process can run quickly and effectively.

"We ask to coordinate with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, this has indeed been opened for several days but 100-200, if 10 thousand to how many days, we ask that our JHT be accelerated," he said.

Slamet said that his party demanded that severance pay be given in accordance with the provisions of the Manpower Act. The payment, he said, would be calculated based on the working period of each employee.

"There are around 10,660 (workers), so around that what will be demanded is the rights that need to be paid," he said.

Slamet also requested that the health facilities be free for 6 months after being declared laid off be calculated since the permanent closure of PT Sri Rejeki Isman on February 26, 2025. It is not calculated since it was cut off by the Semarang District Court in December 2024.

"So those three things we want to convey, we hope that the mother of Commission IX can back us up. We respect the legal decision, but our feelings that are not good are 2 days before fasting, right, THR rights should appear," he concluded.
