TNI AD Invited To Build National Infrastructure, Ministry Of Public Works Is Ready For Financing Responsibility
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) and the Indonesian Army National Army (TNI AD) collaborate for infrastructure maintenance and development.
This collaboration is realized through the preparation of an agreement between the two parties in the Indonesian Army National Armed Forces Seed Program.
PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said the main goal of this collaboration was to accelerate infrastructure development, especially in disadvantaged areas, borders and disaster-prone areas.
"This collaboration will help improve the quality of national infrastructure, especially in the provision of clean water, road maintenance and construction of sanitation systems in rural areas," said Dody as quoted from his official statement, Tuesday, March 4.
There are several main sectors that are the focus of cooperation. First in the field of Water Resources (SDA) which includes cleaning, maintenance and reforestation of rivers, lakes, reservoirs, reservoirs and beaches.
"Providing raw water through ground wells, strengthening the Binter program for controlling illegal fish cages and buildings in water bodies as well as improving agricultural irrigation systems," he said.
In the Bina Marga sector, this collaboration includes routine maintenance of new roads in disadvantaged areas and border areas.
Meanwhile, in the field of Cipta Karya, cooperation includes the development of a domestic waste water management system and a drinking water supply system in rural areas.
This cooperation agreement is planned to last for five years with financing which is fully the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Works.

In addition, the Ministry of Public Works is also considering an update of the Memorandum of Understanding previously signed between the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and the TNI Commander in 2020.
The memorandum ends on January 17, 2025, so it is necessary to evaluate whether this cooperation will begin with a new Memorandum of Understanding before the cooperation agreement is officially signed.
