YouTube Will Overhaul App Display For Television
JAKARTA YouTube plans to attract more users by overhauling the appearance of its television application. YouTube's latest television design will later include paid content from various platforms.
In fact, YouTube users in several countries can access films or series from Paramount Plus, Max, and Ceunchyroll. Access to this third-party streaming service is part of the Primetime Channels and was first introduced in 2022.
The concept is that users can watch videos from YouTube creators or subscribe to third-party services. Unfortunately, this concept does not make it easier for users because of YouTube's difficult layout.
Users have difficulty adding new services to Primetime so YouTube wants to fix this problem. YouTube Product Management Senior Director Kurt Wilms, citing from The Information report, said that these changes also affected creators.

The platform under Google will offer new capabilities that can feature content from creators in several seasons. The show preview will be made similar to Netflix previews so users are more interested in watching it.
Not only that, YouTube will also display content previews automatically. The hope is that when users first open YouTube on television, they will be faced with more interesting content, both from creators and other streaming platforms.
"The vision is that when you open our app and look for events, it will immediately be seen whether the event is from the Primetime Channel or the event is from the creator," Kurt said. Unfortunately, it is not yet known whether these changes will be available across the country.
