Minister Maman Says Realization Removes MSME Traffic Jam Receivables Has Not Reached 50 Percent
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) revealed that the realization of debt elimination for MSME actors was still below 50 percent of the initial stage target of 67,000 MSMEs.
MSME Minister Maman Abdurrahman said that the slow realization of the debt elimination was partly due to a number of Himbara Banks which would only hold a General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) at the end of March.
"It seems that it has not been (realized 50 percent). Internally, there is an GMS (for the abolition of receivables). This, right, some are only at the end of the month, some may be early in the month (implementing the GMS)," said Maman when met at the office of the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Jakarta, Monday, March 3.
For information, the Ministry of MSMEs targets to remove 67,000 receivables in the first phase. As of January 17, 2025, the traffic jams that have been deleted have reached more than 10,000 MSMEs.
The Ministry of MSMEs hopes that the target of eliminating the 67,000 MSME receivables can be completed this March.
This target is believed to be achieved in line with the GMS of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) and PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (BBTN) which are scheduled to take place earlier this month.
"So, yes, there are various factors. But, the important thing is on progress and continue," he said.
To note, President Prabowo Subianto issued a policy of eliminating debt for farmers, fishermen and MSMEs. The regulation is stated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 47 of 2024 concerning the Elimination of bad debts to MSMEs in the Fields of Agriculture, Plantation, Livestock, Fisheries and Marine Affairs and other MSMEs.
Maman previously said that MSME players who received this facility were those who had been included in the list of book deleters and list of collection deletes with several criteria based on the legal umbrella approved by President Prabowo Subianto's administration.
"The first criterion, in Government Regulation (PP) Number 47/2024 concerning the Elimination of Non-Corruption Receivables in MSMEs, states that the maximum receivable is IDR 500 million," Maman said in a written statement, Thursday, January 9.
Second, the MSME has been included in the list of book deletes owned by Himbara Bank five years ago before PP Number 47/2024 was determined. While the third criterion, namely that MSME customers are no longer able to pay and no longer have collateral.
