Cicangor Badami-Loji Karawang Ambles Bridge
The Cicangor Bridge on Jalan Badami-Loji, Pangkalan District, Karawang Regency, West Java was reported to have collapsed.
Officers closed the bridge, so that the main access from Loji to Karawang city or vice versa could not be crossed by vehicles, either four-wheeled or two-wheeled vehicles.
Karawang Regional Secretary Asep Aang Rahmatullah said the bridge connects provincial roads, so that the repair authority rests with the West Java Provincial Government.
Even so, his party has reported the incident to the Department of Highways and Spatial Planning of West Java Province.
It was stated that the Deputy Regent of Karawang Maslani together with the Karawang Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) immediately visited the location of the collapsed bridge.
The collapse of the bridge was due to the swift flow of the river, making the bridge's foundation slowly erode.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) stated that until now Karawang is still in a disaster emergency status ranging from floods, landslides, strong winds, extreme weather to high sea waves.
Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said the disaster emergency status was still active until May 2025 by the Karawang Regency Government.
"It will be carried out and starting from November 8, 2024 to May 31, 2025," Abdul said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 3.

BNPB confirmed this in accordance with the Karawang Regent's decree Number: 100.3.3.2/Kep.489-Huk/2024.
According to Abdul, the emergency alert status not only reminds residents of the potential disaster, but also as an administrative requirement to accelerate handling to alleviate the impact of disasters felt by the community.
With this disaster status, the central government through ministries/agencies can proportionally strengthen logistical assistance for basic necessities to the need for evacuation to affected areas if needed.
