Two Ships Burned At Sunda Kelapa Harbor, Officers Deploy 15 Firefighters
JAKARTA The fire hit two ships that were leaning at Sunda Kelapa Port, Ancol Village, Pademangan District, North Jakarta, on Monday, March 3, afternoon. The incident occurred while the ships were carrying out a loading and unloading process.
Head of the North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Gatot Sulaeman, revealed that his party received a fire report at around 18.13 WIB.
"Information, this ship is in the process of loading and unloading at Sunda Kelapa Port when the fire begins to emerge," said Gatot.

Responding to the report, four fire engines were immediately dispatched to the location. Officers arrived at the location at around 18.19 WIB and immediately started the extinguishing effort two minutes later.
Seeing the condition of the fire which was getting bigger, the number of fire fighting fleets was added to a total of 15 fire engines with 75 firefighters deployed to handle this incident.
"Currently the fire is still burning and officers are still trying to extinguish it," said Gatot.
Until this news was published, there was no information regarding the exact cause of the fire or the death toll in this incident. Officers are still focused on the process of extinguishing the fire and efforts to prevent fires from spreading to other ships around the location.
