Driver In South Jakarta Found Dead Hanging Himself In One Of The Rooms Of The Indonesian Ombudsman Building
JAKARTA - A man with the initials YKB (37), who worked as a driver, was found dead hanging himself in the driver room of the Indonesian Ombudsman Building, Kuningan, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, in the early hours of Monday (3/3/2025).
Head of Public Relations of the South Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Nurma Dewi, confirmed the incident.
"It's true, a man suspected of having committed suicide was found hanging himself," said Nurma when confirmed, Monday, March 3.
Chronology Of Victim Discovery
This incident was first known by two witnesses, Suryadi and Atman. When they arrived at the Ombudsman Building, Suryadi asked Atman if there was any of their colleagues in the driver's room. The two then headed to the location to make sure.
Arriving in the driver's room, they found the victim was already hanging using a sarong tied to the neck and iron pipe in the room.
"After the door opened, the witness saw that the victim was hanging himself using a sarong tied to an iron pipe," said Nurma.
The two witnesses immediately reported this incident to the police. The police who received the report immediately went to the location to conduct a crime scene investigation and further investigation.

The results of the preliminary examination found no signs of violence on the victim's body.
"From the initial examination, there were no signs of violence," added Nurma.
YKB's body has been evacuated to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM), Central Jakarta, for further examination.
Until now, the police are still investigating the motive behind the alleged suicide and will coordinate with the victim's family to seek further information regarding the victim's condition before the incident.
