Infinix Showcases Solar Powered Cellphone At MWC 2025
JAKARTA Infinix developed an unusual concept on smartphones made by it. At the newly held Mobile World Congress (MWC) event, Infinix introduced its first solar power phone.
In order for this Infinix phone to be filled under the heat of fire, there is an integrated solar panel on the back and casings with solar chargers. The technology that Infinix develops for this device is referred to as SolarEnergy-Reserving.
Based on The Verge report, this phone is still in the concept stage. The new Infinix shows off its prototypes using thinner and cheaper perovskite solar cells when produced compared to traditional solar cell silicon.
This cell is also installed with a system that can regulate voltages called Maximum Day Point Tracking. This system is needed to manage heat well because phones usually should not be used under the sun's bound.

If the phone is usually dried in the sun, the phone can be damaged due to excessive heat, but not with this Infinix phone concept. The technology that the company developed is capable of charging phones up to 2W.
Not only is the phone interesting, the casing is also much more interesting. At MWC, this solar-powered phone is paired with a prototype that has small contacts on the side. This contact can channel power from casings.
Users can take advantage of the casing during the day to store power. Meanwhile, at night, this charger will be useful in an emergency, for example when the electricity goes out.
