Hasto's Pretrial Session On Investigation Opportunities Postponed Until March 14
JAKARTA - The trial for the pretrial filed by the Secretary-General of the PDI-P (PDIP), Hasto Kristiyanto, was decided for the second time to be postponed. This is because the defendant, namely the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), was not present.
The sole judge Rio Barten Pasaribu, who tried the case, decided to postpone the pretrial trial for more than a week. Thus, the trial will be held again on March 14.
"Thus the trial was postponed until March 14, 2025, with the agenda of calling the respondent again to appear at the trial," said Judge Rio during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday, March 3.
The postponed pretrial hearing is a case registered with number 24/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL or related to the determination of the suspect in the alleged obstruction case of the investigation.
The decision to postpone it is of course with several considerations, one of which is a request from the respondent or the KPK. The anti-corruption agency asked the judge to postpone the trial for up to two weeks.
Despite granting the postponement, the judge stated that at the upcoming trial the KPK was not present. So, the judicial process continues even though it is not attended by the respondent.
"So, we think the 14th date is quite good by considering everything. So the trial will be held on the 14th with a note that this is the last call for the Respondent," said the judge.
Based on information, the trial of Hasto's pretrial lawsuit with case number 24/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL was also decided to postpone it until March 10, 2025.
Hasto is known to have filed two lawsuits related to the validity of the process of determining him as a suspect in the alleged bribery case at the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the DPR RI and the alleged obstruction of the investigation.
Based on the Case Investigation Information System (SIPP) of the South Jakarta District Court, the trial for the pretrial case number 23/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL will be tried by Tunggal Judge Afrizal Hadi. This trial tested whether or not the determination of the suspect Hasto was based on Sprindik Number Sprin.Dik/153/DIK.00/01/12/2024 regarding the alleged bribery.
Meanwhile, the trial of the lawsuit with case number 24/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL will be handled by the Single Judge Rio Barten Pasaribu to examine whether or not the determination of the suspect Hasto is legal regarding the alleged obstruction of the investigation based on Sprindik Number Sprin.Dik/152/DIK/DIK.01/12/2024.
Previously it was reported, Hasto through his attorney was known to have submitted a pretrial application to the South Jakarta District Court. However, the sole judge who handled the case decided not to accept the lawsuit, on February 13. The reason is because the lawsuit is considered unclear or vague.
It is known that the KPK developed a bribery case for interim replacement (PAW) that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.
