Heavy Rain In Bogor, Katulampa Dam Alert 1: Jakarta Flood Alert!

BOGOR - Since Sunday, March 2 afternoon until evening, Bogor City has been hit by heavy rainfall. The water level (TMA) of the Ciliwung River rose by Alert 1 Jakarta Flood.

The Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A. Rachim, said that the latest situation upstream of the Ciliwung River showed an increase in the water discharge height.

At Katulampa Dam, the water discharge height was recorded up to 200 cm at 21.00 WIB, with Alert 2 status.

Meanwhile, Dedie A. Rachim added that half an hour later, at 22:33 WIB, the water discharge height at Katulampa Dam reached 220 cm and entered Alert 1 status.

"With this condition, people are advised on the banks of Ciliwung to be vigilant. The prediction of an overflow of water will enter the Jakarta area on Monday, March 3 at around 06.30 am," said Dedie A. Rachim.

"For this reason, we continue to monitor the condition of the water discharge at the Katulampa Dam. Hopefully, the rainfall will decrease and will not cause potential flooding in the Bogor area, Jakarta, and its surroundings," he continued.

In addition, Dedie A. Rachim also highlighted the importance of cooperation between the government and the community in maintaining environmental cleanliness.

"People's habits in managing waste must be wiser, not littering, and start massively empowering and preparing waste banks from the RT level," he said.

With these steps, the Bogor City Government (Pemkot) hopes to reduce the frequency and impact of disasters that occur every year and improve the quality of life of its citizens through cleaner and safer environments.
