Agam Regent, West Sumatra, Benni Warlis ordered members of the local Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) to bring order to food traders who sell during the day during Ramadan.
"I ask the Satpol PP to bring order to all food traders who open and sell during the day during Ramadan," said Agam Regent Benni Warlis in Lubuk Basung, Antara, Sunday, March 3.
This control aims to create a conducive situation during fasting Ramadan 1446 Hijri.
Traders' reports that were open during the day were obtained from the congregation after carrying out the dawn prayer at the Nurul Ikhlas Perumnas Talago Mosque, Sunday, March 2.
"In response to the report, I immediately instructed the Satpol PP to control traders who sell outside the permitted hours, especially during the day," he said.
He added that the control was in accordance with the circular letter from the Regent of Agam, Number: 400/70/Kesra/II/2025, in order to create a middle, advanced and sustainable Agam Regency.
In the circular, they do not bring food or drinks in the work room and specifically food or beverage traders are displayed to sell at mosques and prayer rooms so as not to disturb tarawih prayers.
