Alex Teh Pours Personalised Lyrics in New Single, five

JAKARTA - Singer and songwriter Alex Teh released his latest musical work titled 'five'. This song carries something meaningful, depicting emotional journeys from childhood to maturity.

Inspired by personal experience, this song captures feelings of longing for a time without burden and uncertainty in life as you grow up.

Produced with Rhesa from Endah N Rhesa, 'five' combines energetic rhythms with emotional lyrics. The arrangement of this song was first made for the Java Jazz stage before it was recorded in the studio, providing a more raw and authentic feel.

From the dynamic drum beats to the distinctive mix of Alex-style acoustic guitars, 'five' brings listeners on a journey that depicts the feelings of a child running free, but slowly being chased by adult realities and responsibilities.

Alex puts a personal point of view in writing this song. One of the most memorable lyrics is Then it's your brother's birthday, and he's getting older, getting worried, you wish he didn't see you on the bathroom floor crying, crying.

The lyrics reflect a real moment in his life, where as the oldest brother, he feels he must always be strong. However, even when he is fragile, his younger brother comes to strengthen him. This song also becomes a symbol of changing roles in the family and the reality that we all have to face maturity in our own way.

In addition to the deep lyrical meaning, the production process of this song is also a valuable experience for Alex. With Rhesa as a producer, Alex was directly involved in processing the arrangement and sound, even before the studio version was released.

"We want to make sure that this song still has a light feel, but also makes listeners want to scream and express their emotions," explained Alex in a written broadcast, February 24.

In its production, various elements such as tapping drums and applause are included to add elements of joy, but still provide a deep feeling of nostalgia.

Alex hopes 'five' can be friends for those who are facing the challenge of maturity. "Growing is messy and tiring, but we are all on the same journey," he said.

This song is also expected to be a coverage for those who miss childhood and want to feel the warmth and certainty they used to have. After 'Five', Alex plans to release his latest single in May, before releasing his debut EP, In My 20s, which is scheduled for release in the middle of this year.
