President Joko Widodo Visits Grand Batang City, PTPP Managing Director Is Sure The Project Will Be Completed On Time

JAKARTA - The state-owned construction company, PT PP (Persero) Tbk, through its associated entity, namely PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang, continues to accelerate the progress of the development of the Batang Integrated Industrial Zone (KIT) (Grand Batang City).

As of mid-April, the construction of field works (cut & fill) for KIT Batang for Cluster 1 Phase 1 covering an area of 450 hectares, has reached a progress of 95.17 percent. President Joko Widodo paid a working visit to Grand Batang City on Wednesday 21 April together with the Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono.

During the working visit, Novel Arsyad as the President Director of PTPP also accompanied the President of the Republic of Indonesia along with the Minister of PUPR, the Head of BKPM, the Governor of Central Java, the Regent of Batang and the management of Grand Batang City.

This APBN-funded project has an implementation period of 180 calendar days and a maintenance period of 365 (three hundred and sixty five) calendar days. As of mid-April 2021, the implementation of the KIT Batang Road Development has reached a progress of 43.71 percent.

"This is an industrial area in Batang which will be worked on an area of 4,300 hectares. Now, 450 hectares of land have been prepared and will be used for investments, especially those related to technology. Therefore, at noon I am checking the preparations for this industrial area in Batang. Because later in May there will be a grounbreaking or groundbreaking for the glass industry. And perhaps it will become the largest glass industry in the Southeast Asian region, "said President Joko Widodo in a press statement after a visit to Grand Batang City.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PTPP, Novel Arsyad, said that PTPP continues to accelerate the progress of the construction of KIT Batang Cluster I Phase I covering an area of 450 hectares, where the construction is targeted to be completed this year.

"As of mid-April 2021, the progress of construction work for Zone 1, Zone 2 and Zone 3 in the cluster has reached 99.80 percent, 99.71 percent and 99.12 percent. With the progress that has been running, PTPP is optimistic. can complete the field work on time according to the target, "said Novel Arsyad.

Novel added, with the opening of Grand Batang City soon, PTPP hopes to create new jobs for the Indonesian people, especially those in the Batang area and Central Java Province.

The Batang KIT development project is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) initiated by the government and aims to encourage the strengthening of the industrial sector in Indonesia. Therefore, PTPP always supports every program launched by the government in order to increase economic activity in Indonesia.

KIT Batang is located in Batang Regency, Central Java Province, which has a total land area to be developed of 4,300 hectares. The construction of the Batang KIT is divided into three clusters, namely Cluster I covering an area of 3,100 hectares, Cluster II covering an area of ?? 800 hectares, and Cluster III covering an area of ?? 400 hectares.

KIT Batang is one of the selected areas offered to become a new industrial center where the opening of the area is expected to attract foreign investors to invest in Indonesia.
