Satpol PP Targets Human Carts During Ramadan, People Are Asked To Domals Directly To Mosques
JAKARTA - Head of DKI Jakarta Satpol PP, Satriadi Gunawan, said that his staff had started to carry out surveillance and prosecution for potential disturbances in security and order during the month of Ramadan.
One of the phenomena that is widespread every month of Ramadan is the emergence of manusia carts or homeless people who often ask for mercy from people in public spaces. This is one of the targets of the DKI Satpol PP raids.
"Some of the main things that need to be considered are, among others, related to the supervision of the existence of PPKS such as beggars, manusia gerobak, manusia sacks who used to take advantage of the situation during Ramadan," Satriadi told reporters, Sunday, March 2.
To suppress the circulation of homeless people or manusia gerobak in the month of Ramadan, Satriadi appealed to the public to do charity in the place that has overseen it.
"People who want to do charity to set aside some of their sustenance are asked to distribute it through official social institutions or directly in mosques and prayer rooms," said Satriadi.
Then, during the fasting month until Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, Satpol PP also oversees potential disturbances during the implementation of sahur on the road (SOTR) and opens together (bukber).
"The problem of convoy activities before breaking the fast, after tarawih or before dawn has the potential for friction or brawls," said Satriadi.
In addition, the DKI Satpol PP will also raid firecrackers that are widely sold to the sale of alcoholic beverages without a permit because they have the potential to interfere with the implementation of worship in the month of Ramadan and have the potential to endanger the community.
Then, also monitoring the operations of night entertainment venues that must be closed during the month of Ramadan with the provisions in accordance with the Announcement of the Head of Tourism and Creative Economy of DKI Jakarta number e-001 of 2025 concerning the Implementation of Tourism Businesses in the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1446 H/2025 AD.
"Supervision of compliance with operating hours of business places such as restaurants and nightclubs from D-1 Ramadan to D+2 Eid Al-Fitr," explained Satriadi.
