Unraveling The Congestion Of Lebaran Homecoming, AHY Hopes WFA Will Be Implemented March 24
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development (IPK) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said that there is a work from anywhere or WFA policy starting March 24, 2025.
This is the government's effort to reduce the density of traffic flow during the upcoming Eid homecoming.
AHY said that his party had coordinated with the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan-RB) to implement the policy.
"We have also coordinated with the Kemenpan-RB regarding unraveling congestion by working from anywhere. The hope is that we can prioritize or start distribution of mobility ahead of Eid homecoming first. So, on March 24, it is hoped that work from anywhere or flexible work arrangement can be applied," said AHY at a press conference at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Saturday, March 1.
According to AHY, this needs to be done in order to reduce congestion during the Lebaran homecoming flow. Moreover, the number of people moving this year is expected to be more at the Nataru momentum last year.
"Towards the Lebaran homecoming, we know and predict that there will be a spike in mobility and this happens every Lebaran, of course higher than Nataru 2024," said AHY.
"The implementation of this flexible work arrangement is expected to reduce the peaks of the density of traffic in the days or at night before Eid al-Fitr," he continued.

AHY said that this year's Eid momentum is close to Nyepi Day. Therefore, said AHY, this WFA policy can also be a solution to unraveling excessive congestion.
"We know that Eid al-Fitr will also be adjacent to Nyepi Day for Hindu brothers and sisters. Well, we have to arrange this properly so that there is no too severe buildup. Therefore, the hope is that with school holidays also being adjusted, hopefully it can be a solution to unravel overcrowding," he concluded.
