Basarnas Evacuation Of Teenager's Body Drowning In Aceh Besar

ACEH besar - The Basarnas team evacuated the bodies of a 16-year-old teenager who drowned and disappeared after being dragged by the waves while bathing in the sea with a friend at Riting Beach, Leupeung District, Aceh Besar District.

Head of Banda Aceh Basarnas Ibnu Harris Al Hussain said the victim was M Ikhsan, a 16-year-old man. The victim is a resident of Meunasah Papeun, Aceh Besar District.

"The victim was found dead on the beach near the point where the last victim was seen. The victim's body was found today," said Ibnu Harris Al Hussain in Banda Aceh, Antara, Friday, February 28.

Previously, the victim was reported missing and drowned after being dragged by the current while bathing in the sea with a number of his friends at Riting Beach on Thursday at around 13.10 WIB.

Then the Banda Aceh Basarnas received information on missing people and a request for a search.

Based on this information, Basarnas deployed a search and rescue team to the location of the drowning and missing victims.

Arriving at the location at around 14.00 WIB, he said, the team immediately looked for victims. The search was carried out by two teams. The first team searched for victims in the waters using rubber boats and the second team combed the beach for one mile.

"The search for victims was also carried out by diving at a depth of four to five meters. Meanwhile, sweeping the waters with a radius of up to one nautical mile," said Ibnu.

Until late at night, he said, the search had not yielded any results. The search was temporarily suspended due to conditions at the location of the missing victim in a dark state.

The search for victims continued the next morning. The Basarnas team also deployed drones to search for victims by air. The search area, both on land and in the waters, is expanded.

"When they were about to start the search on the second day, the Basarnas Team received information that the victim was found on the beach. Furthermore, the Basarnas team evacuated the victim and was taken to the funeral home," he said.

In addition to Basarnas personnel, the search for victims also involved officers from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Aceh Besar District, elements of the TNI and Polri, as well as the community.

"With the discovery of the victim, the SAR operation is closed and the personnel involved in the search are returned to their respective units or agencies," said Ibnu Harris Al Hussain.
