JAKARTA The cheating practice of a chicken gongong seller at Kebayoran Lama Market has finally been uncovered! The police named a trader with the initials S (30) as a suspect after being proven to have injected water into a chicken to increase the weight of his merchandise.

This cunning action was revealed after the public reported allegations of chickens that looked bigger than usual. The police moved quickly to investigate and arrest S at the location on Thursday, February 27 in the morning.

"We conducted a case title and named a suspect on suspicion of injecting water using a compressor," said Head of Resmob Satreskrim South Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Bima Sakti, Friday, February 28.

During the arrest, the police found evidence in the form of cut chicken which had been injected with water, compressor equipment, gallons of water, and a tube that had been modified with a syringe.

According to Bima, chickens that have been injected with water will look bigger and heavier than ordinary chickens, so that the perpetrators can sell them at a higher price and get multiple benefits.

As a result of his actions, suspect S was charged with Article 62 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 8 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. If found guilty, he faces up to 5 years in prison and a maximum fine of IDR 2 billion.

The police appealed to the public to be more vigilant and report if they found allegations of similar practices.
